Asmodee is a French company founded in 1995 that creates, publishes and distributes board games and trading cards. The company exports to more than 50 countries through its 17 subsidiaries and its network of distributors.
In March 2020, Asmodee has reached out OVRSEA to import its goods from Asia to Europe.
One month later, in April 2020, Asmodee had to import 11,400 sets of the game "Ticket to Ride - Rails & Sails", but the lockdown was imposed and the health crisis was already affecting international trade. Air rates were exploding, many planes were grounded and some routes were no longer accessible. Maritime transport was not an option given the short deadlines imposed on Asmodee, and while Asmodee was planning to use air transport, OVRSEA suggested instead opting for rail transport.

The rail solution is imperative and Asmodee launches its first rail transport with OVRSEA: 10 times cheaper than air transport at that time and twice as fast as sea transport.
The contact between ASMODEE's supplier and OVRSEA's rail operator as well as the launch of the transport is simple and transparent for ASMODEE, as for air and sea imports. Asmodee is informed in real time about the current transport, the booking and the possible delays. This is a reliable way for Asmodee to deliver its game sets on time to its assembler in Europe and avoid a production delay.
Thanks to the OVRSEA platform, Asmodee was able to save 65% of time in the management of its rail transport. Requests for quotations are three times faster than with a traditional freight forwarder and the reliability of quotations avoids discrepancies in the final billing.
The centralization of all the information on the platform allows the various Asmodee employees to follow the progress of the shipments in one click. Moreover, the clear and daily updated data allows to optimize the general communication of the teams.
The response times never exceeding 30 minutes, the reliability and responsiveness of the OVRSEA teams have enabled Asmodee to import nearly 40% of its goods by rail to various destinations in Europe.
