Founded in Paris in 1830, Christofle is a French goldsmith and tableware company known for its elegance and craftsmanship, importing its raw materials from Asia and exporting its products around the world to its subsidiaries in Japan and the United States, as well as to its boutiques and hotels in North America, South America, Asia and the Middle East.
With nearly 200 years of experience, the company was aware that technology could help them gain visibility and simplicity in the management of their flows. Christofle's logistics team was ready to explore innovative solutions, but only if they had a dedicated team that listened.
In the winter of 2020, the COVID-19 crisis broke out, capacity ran out and rates soared. France is experiencing its first containment and Christofle's logistics team must maintain a maximum number of shipments to ensure a minimum volume of business. The OVRSEA team proved to be very reactive and provided a transparent solution for an urgent shipment. Christofle entrusted OVRSEA with a first shipment.

Project progress
The OVRSEA team was very responsive during the health crisis, even when there was great uncertainty. The team made sure to propose a solution for each urgent Christofle shipment, making sure that each proposal sent out corresponded to a real capacity with the companies.
At the same time, OVRSEA set up a crisis bulletin in order to inform its customers daily of the evolution of the rates and the impact of the crisis on the transports. This allowed Christofle's logistics team to obtain visibility throughout the crisis and to communicate fresh and reliable information to management and sales representatives. The platform's ergonomics immediately appealed to Christofle's teams.
The platform allowed to centralize all the exchanges and to save a considerable amount of time by reducing by 70% the number of emails. Thanks to real-time tracking, Christofle's subsidiaries and customers can follow the progress of their goods without having to go through Christofle. The centralization of transport documents on the platform and the downloadable reports have also been a considerable asset for the teams.
OVRSEA now organizes imports of raw materials and shipments of finished products from Christofle.
The Logistics team manages all transport from the platform and has a dedicated team of experts.
OVRSEA continues to help Christofle to modernize its flows and accompanies the company towards a more responsible transport thanks to the calculation of the emissions of each transport and by proposing as soon as possible more sustainable alternatives.
